Owner of the Travel Health Group (THG), the parent company of Tropicare® and De Reisdokter®. Author of the book ‘First aid on a Trip’, published in the Netherlands by the Royal Institute for the Tropics. Gives lectures on travel preparation to travel organisations, outdoor athletes and travellers.

Profile

After a Business Administration degree, majoring in Business Economics (1987-1991), he took a postgraduate course in Export Marketing Management.

At the age of 25, he started working at Primmed, a pharmaceutical wholesaler of vaccines. Together with his father, he founded Tropicare® in 1992. Since 1999, he has been the owner of the Travel Health Group (THG). His initial experience with the world of travel was in organising skiing holidays while he was studying. After that, he travelled widely, including to Africa and Asia, and had a lot of experience of travel and health through extreme activities.

Private

He is a fanatical rower on the Amstel (Amsterdam) in a veterans 8 and a skiff. At home he gives courses in Thai cookery. He is married to Sybrich and father of daughter Elyne.
